Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The steel frame and steel clad, four-storey facility, will feature three floors of office accommodation, a large full height production area and a fourth-storey plant room, comprising the mechanical and electrical services for the building.
Offices will be constructed along two sides of the unit and fitted out to a high standard, with raised access floors and suspended ceilings, with ISG Jackson constructing a range of welfare and changing facilities for staff, as well as installing both a passenger and a goods lift.
The central open plan production area will house storage and racking areas and ISG Jackson will construct a series of galvanised mezzanine floor structures above this space to provide essential access for production staff.
Externally, the contractor will form a new car park and carry out a range of hard and soft landscaping finishes and erect acoustic fencing surrounding the new facility.
The project is scheduled for completion by October 2007.
