Jackson's Completes Duxford War Museum Project
Jackson Building Services has completed a £1.3 million, nine-month project to transform the old Armoury building at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
The scheme sees ISG Jackson build 90 units grouped within six buildings of varying sizes across the site, with five single-storey steel frame warehouses, and two traditional masonry constructed blocks - one two-storey and one part three-storey.
The new facilities will be fitted out to a high standard and provide a flexible range and size of office, studio and warehouse accommodation for new and expanding businesses within the area, as well as attracting organisations from outside the region.
The project scores highly on its environmental credentials, with the new business units utilising a highly sustainable on site biomass boiler.
Externally ISG Jackson will create a large car park and a range of hard and soft landscaping finishes.
The project is scheduled for completion in November 2007.
