ISG Jackson Academy provides a structured training and development path for individuals at every level within the business.

One to one coaching sessions and a 20-month management development programme for rising stars - run in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute - form key elements of the new Academy.

Six post A-level and graduate candidates will join ISG Jackson's highly regarded management trainee programme in 2007 and twelve members of staff are currently undertaking NVQ's from levels 2 to 5.

With an annual training budget of around GBP1,000 per employee, a 70-seat lecture theatre and a purpose built IT training room, ISG Jackson Academy has a range of training resources to rival much larger national businesses.

The company actively encourages its staff to become members of professional bodies, such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Academy has also developed a key training partnership programme with the CIOB.

The Academy is also responsible for delivering ISG Jackson's core Health and Safety and Environmental training programmes, ensuring that staff are fully compliant with the very latest legislation within this critical and constantly evolving area of the business.

Additionally, lunchtime seminars, toolbox talks and invitational training events for selected subcontractors and clients will also now be organised through ISG Jackson Academy.

Guy Fairweather, Quality and Environment Manager, who has recently been recognised as a Fellow of the CIOB, heads up ISG Jackson Academy and commented: "With investment in training at its highest ever level, ISG Jackson has made a major commitment to its future with the creation of the new Academy, which provides a framework to support individual learning and development within the business.

The move to create the ISG Jackson Academy takes this philosophy one stage further and presents individuals with an opportunity to excel professionally and build a highly successful and mutually beneficial career within ISG Jackson.".
