ISG Jackson secures GBP6.7 million design and build project for a new two-storey science, media and IT facility at the community college in Peterborough,.
This key investment in on site resources will enable the specialist technology college to build upon its enviable regional reputation, whilst many of the new facilities will also be available for wider community use Work has now commenced on the construction of the steel frame extension, which is designed with a cantilevered upper floor and supporting concrete frame columns below, forming a link between two existing buildings on site

Ian Gifford, director of ISG Jackson's Public division, commented: "Site restrictions, limited accessibility and a busy college environment make this project particularly challenging".
"By adopting robust procedures dealing with health and safety and traffic management, we will minimise any potential disruption to staff and students at Arthur Mellows College throughout the works programme and are confident that this high quality educational resource will play a key role within the curriculum and the community.".
