JC Wilkins launches school acoustics guide

A JC Wilkins product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 24, 2009

JC Wilkins has released a Guide to School Acoustic products, to help construction professionals involved in education projects.

The release of this publication coincides with the recent announcement that the Government intends to introduce mandatory acoustic testing for all schools built under the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative.

The guide explains the part that acoustics play in school and college environments.

the publication offers guidance on areas such as the distribution of absorbent panels and tiles in classrooms, sports halls, corridors, swimming pools, and dining areas.

It outlines the damaging effects that reverberations can have on these learning areas and references the existing legislation laid out in Building Bulletin BB93 (part of the building regulations).

JC Wilkins offers a comprehensive range of acoustic insulation products that can be used to create suitable acoustic environments from initial stages, or to enable existing buildings to meet the new regulations.

These products are complemented by a full technical advice and support service with a nationwide delivery service included.
