Conventional modems were often too power hungry, tricky to set-up and limited in configuration, but Telemodem2 overcomes this through an extended choice of power options and remote diagnostics capability.
Jekyll modems are built to the very highest standards to withstand harsh, extreme environments and five models are available.
The 'Standard' is the entry level low power version that connects at speeds up to 2400bps (V22bis).
Data ports are compatible with both logic or RS232 signal levels and the Caller Line Identity feature permits line sharing with other telecom equipment for reduced installation costs.
'Freedom' is a zero power version of the 'Standard'.
This offers true remote monitoring since all power is taken direct from the telephone line, rather than mains or battery power.
This simplifies installation to legacy equipment where communications power cannot be easily provided.
'Fastlink' is capable of downloading data at speeds up to 14,400bps (V32bis) and beyond.
This modem is particularly suited for larger data download requirements from remote sites such as industrial plants.
Crucially, it requires no extra power than an ordinary low speed modem.
The 'Mobile' uses GSM technology for remote telemetry data access via a mobile phone.
What sets this apart from conventional GSM modems is the ability to draw power smoothly, without demanding large pulses of current, and remain in a standby state on just a few micro-amps.
Supply voltages can be preselected to linkup with battery powered data loggers as well as direct power supplies in distribution plants.
The 'Custom' model means exactly that.
Customers can select various mounting and interfacing options, as well as the communications standard, mechanical configuration and power supply.
Intrinsic safety and other environmental protection requirements can be included by Jekyll according to the application.
