American white oak veneered doorsets (FD30) from JELD-WEN were chosen for the development, which comprises social housing, private housing and housing association properties in four apartment blocks, located at each corner of the pitch.
"These doorsets have a quality look and feel that reflects the high specification we are building here," explains Phil Gallagher, project manager for Ardmore Construction.
"We have used JELD-WEN doorsets on many other sites and been pleased with the results".
"We find them much quicker to fit, which has helped us meet build schedules and has meant huge savings on labour across the development".
Mark Roberts, product manager for JELD-WEN explains: "We work closely with developers to help them meet the challenge of the skills shortage on site and this project is a perfect example".
"Supply of doorsets is increasingly common for large developments as it saves time and ensures the installation is completed to the highest standard".
"Whatever the customer wants, we aim to deliver, from offering the services of our own supply and fit teams for doorsets and windows to machining the doors to make the fitting of ironmongery even quicker".
The American white oak veneered doorsets are part of the real wood veneered range by JELD-WEN.
As Mark Roberts explains: "These doorsets offer the best of both worlds - they have the natural beauty of a real wooden door but boast a robust engineered construction and provide resistance to modern centrally heated conditions".
"They tend to be popular with residents as they offer a simple contemporary feel that matches well with modern units and worksurfaces and also have the benefit of low maintenance." In addition to American white Oak, the real wood veneered doors range also includes the option of Beech, Ash, African Maple, Koto and Sapele wood types.
Doors are supplied with a multi-coat lacquered finish to both faces and are available as half hour firedoors, as in this development.
