JELD-WEN has seen a huge increase in demand for composite doorsets for renovations and new build projects in the public sector.

JELD-WEN, one of the UK's leading joinery manufacturers, has seen a huge increase in demand for composite doorsets for renovations and new build projects in the public sector After signing an agreement to supply 80,000 doorsets to Sheffield Homes, as part of a five year deal, JELD-WEN has secured a number of high profile projects to supply its high specification composite doorsets to local authorities and housing associations across the UK

Mark Roberts, product manager at JELD-WEN, said: "Composite doors have huge benefits in terms of energy efficiency, as they have six times better insulation than other door types".

"Housing associations and local authorities recognize their benefits in terms of improved thermal performance and durability and the great lifetime value that they offer".

With Government figures showing that there are around 756,000 burglaries every year, JELD-WEN's composite doors provide peace of mind as they meet with Secured by Design requirements.

Manufactured from high impact resistant GRP, these doorsets are extremely robust against attack and feature a multipoint locking mechanism, which enhances security even further.

They also comply with PAS 23/24 and have undergone rigorous tests to demonstrate their resistance to soft and hard body impact.

All JELD-WEN's composite doorsets also meet with the latest Part L legislation, ensuring maximum energy efficiency in the area most likely to result in heat loss in the home.

Mark Roberts continues: "Our new European Research and Development Centre is playing a major part in developing the specification of our composite doorsets to meet the needs of our public sector customers".

"Security and peace of mind of tenants is paramount as is thermal performance and ensuring we provide customers with the very best life time value of the product".

"Our growth in this area is testament to our expertise in developing a solution that is tailored to different needs and requirements, whether that is for security, environmental or aesthetic factors".

Doorsets are supplied in a pre-finished frame, which maximises performance and minimises on-site installation time, ensuring least disruption to tenants.

The doors can be supplied in a wide range of finishes with an authentic woodgrain effect.

In addition, customers benefit from low maintenance on composite doorsets as JELD-WEN provides a 10 year guarantee against manufacturer's defects as standard.
