Real wood veneered doors get a makeover
JELD-WEN change specification of its real wood veneered internal doors with the removal of lippings along the long edges.
This change has also been made to JELD-WEN's paint grade veneer faced doors and brings them in line with much of the European and US door industry As hardwood lippings have become more difficult to source, their price has risen sharply in recent years, so the new specification will allow JELD-WEN to keep the doors competitively priced and to offer FSC Certification on this range

JELD-WEN composite doors at steel door prices
JELD-WEN extends composite door range to include two new styles at steel door prices, specifically developed for housebuilders.
It has also eliminated the problem of shrinkage and expansion which sometimes resulted in hairline cracks appearing between the lippings and door face.
The elimination of these cracks will result in a significant improvement in the overall appearance of the installed door.
The new specification doors can be trimmed to fit up to 8mm on all edges - whereas previously the maximum trimming width was 4mm.
All JELD-WEN's range of real wood flush doors will continue to be supplied with a multi-coat lacquered finish to both faces and in the same six popular finishes as before - Beech, White Oak, Koto, Sapele, Ash and African Maple.
The stiles and rails can be finished using stains, paints or varnish, as previously.
Mark Roberts, Product Manager at JELD-WEN, explains: "This new specification means that we have been able to keep the price competitive at a time when worldwide raw materials costs are increasing".
"In addition, because of the removal of the hardwood lippings, we can offer FSC certification on these popular internal doors and buyers should recognise the improved aesthetics and greater stability of the product".
Real wood veneered doors are one of JELD-WEN's most popular ranges, because of their highly engineered construction, which means they will not warp, twist or split.
The range has the option of FD30 Fire Doors options, which are BWF Certifire approved, providing extra peace of mind to the homeowner.
