A revolutionary new window has been developed that enables housebuilders and housing providers to meet with new thermal performance ratings The new Hi Profile Combi 1.5 timber window from JELD-WEN has a market-leading energy rating of 1.5Wm2/K and offers total flexibility in window design and configuration

"This is the first in the new generation of energy-rated windows, for which we have taken a well established and popular style and adapted it exactly in line with the latest legislation," explains Tony Pell, product manager for JELD-WEN.

"The product was developed to help our customers to meet the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes".

"This product offers exceptional performance that is comparable to any window currently available and we are excited about what this means for both the public and private housing sectors".

The Hi Profile Combi range is manufactured from PEFC Chain of Custody certified timber and is classed as zero carbon rated as any Carbon Dioxide released in its production is negated by the high performance of the window when installed.

The design also provides complete flexibility through a wide range of operational options, such as side hung and top-hung reversible, which match externally to give a uniform effect.

Hi Profile Combi is supplied factory glazed with 24mm Low E insulated glass units and a standard 83mm nominal sill.

As well as offering excellent thermal performance, the Hi Profile Combi 1.5 provides low maintenance as it has the minimum of joint lines and also external flush surfaces.

The Hi Profile Combi 1.5 also meets with Secured by Design requirements.

Ironmongery and fittings are all colour co-ordinated with ventilators, handle, keep and weather strip with an attractive beige finish.

Fully reversible configurations allow minor external maintenance to be carried out inside the building.

The external beading design also helps by reducing internal maintenance and significantly enhancing perceived security.

Tony Pell said: "Innovation and new product development is evident throughout much of our range this year".

"This exciting new product shows how timber windows are really gaining ground in the market for energy efficient and truly sustainable solutions".
