JELD-WEN's Canberra Duo is a sliding folding patio door has been released in new high quality oak.

The trend towards oak for furnishings, floor coverings and other finishes, has led to demand from homeowners for an oak version of JELD-WEN's highly popular and innovative patio doors.

The Canberra is renowned for its truly inspirational design as it was one of the first sliding folding patio doors to be introduced into the UK.

JELD-WEN expects Canberra Duo to build on this success with homeowners and developers looking for a fashionable oak door that complements furniture, flooring or other finishes in the home.

Vicky Severn, Product Manager for JELD-WEN, explains: "The trend in patio doors is for natural oak finishes and it is no surprise that the Canberra patio door looks truly stunning in this timber type".

"This stunning sliding folding oak door not only opens up the front or back of the house, but also maximises the amount of natural light in the home".

The new Canberra Duo patio doors are available in standard sizes and with a bespoke sizing option.

The bespoke service allows customers to choose any size of Canberra patio door, up to a width of 1800 up to 4,200mm and a minimum height of 1950 and also sizes in-between up to a maximum 2700mm.

Energy efficiency remains a key benefit of the Canberra, which is supplied with a standard specification of 24mm Low-E insulated glass, ensuring it is compliant with Part L and ensures thermal efficiency.

However, customers are now able to upgrade this specification to achieve an even lower U-value with gas filled triple glazed units, which improves energy efficiency even further.

Canberra Duo is manufactured from 54mm thick door panels that can be supplied either pre-finished or unfinished for buyers to decorate to their own tastes.

These stunning high quality oak on an engineered timber core patio doors are have full FSC Chain of Custody certification, which means they originate from well managed forests with strict reforestation programmes.

The Canberra patio door has become a firm favourite with customers looking to maximise the amount of natural light within their homes.

Combining the style and elegance of a classic French door with the space saving benefits of a sliding door, the Canberra patio door allows for the creation of an inspirational light, open and airy living environment.

The unique slide and fold mechanism allows for full opening access to the outdoors, which is a quick, simple and convenient way to enjoy the benefits of alfresco living.

In addition to bespoke sizes, this style of patio door is now available with the option of decorative fret glazing, in a variety of attractive designs, including the popular pattern 70 and all-bar designs, as well as other simulated dividing light options. This allows customers to personalise their Canberra even further to suit their tastes and the style of their home.

Another recent innovation is the addition of attractive white Venetian blinds which are permanently sealed within the double-glazing cavity of the patio door, offering a stylish additional feature and even greater convenience.

This innovation increases privacy, keeps the living area warmer in winter and helps prevent solar gain in Summer.

Once sealed in this totally dust-free environment, the blinds also require no cleaning, always appearing new and are protected from damage, unlike external blind systems.

Vicky Severn continues: "Timber patio doors are becoming really popular as buyers recognise that it is the only truly renewable material".

"Canberra Duo".

"is becoming one of this year's "must haves" and this latest version looks set to make it even more popular and suited to both contemporary and classic designs of home.
