Timber Milestones For Jewson
Jewson has taken delivery of the one millionth cubic metre of timber shipped to the UK, from the Honkalahti sawmill of main supplier StoraEnso, based in Finland and Sweden.
In a ceremony to mark the occasion, Brian Stead, Jewson commercial director, commended employee Jimmy Lenham, who is retiring after 50 years with the company, for handling five million linear metres of timber over his career Jewson currently imports approximately 300,000mü of redwood and whitewood (spruce and pine) per year - of which a significant volume is from StoraEnso
