Johnson Controls' Director Of Operations To Go Stateside Paul Bedborough, director of operations for Johnson Controls' west region is to take up a new role with the company in the US.

As vice -president and general manager for the finance, retail, oil and gas sectors, Bedborough is tasked with managing a significant portfolio of global FM business Appointed in 2000, Bedborough's successful track record in Johnson Controls' FM line of business included: * Pioneering innovations in Johnson Controls' FM offering, focusing specifically on consistency and best practice across the UK portfolio * Led European teams to deliver global bids * Won the contract for a major high street financial services organisation, covering a portfolio of more than 2,000 retail outlets * Devised an award winning call centre solution to service major clients Commenting on the move Bedborough said: "The business of FM is increasingly global

For several years I have been working on major international brands and Johnson Controls is one of the only organisations offering a truly peer-to-peer relationship with those major corporates in terms of international service capacity.

From this robust foundation I will now lead a team with a stronger sector-based focus in the US.

The American market is ripe for development and I am looking forward to taking elements of the UK model across to the States." Succeeding Bedborough as director of operations, west region is Fiona Conway-Hughes.

Previously customer business director for the EDS account for Johnson Controls, Conway-Hughes has also worked client-side in the FM sector for several years.

She will be supported by the existing team as she develops and expands the current service offering.

Conway-Hughes' track record includes: * Reengineering the EDS model to deliver significant cost savings to the client and minimising fixed costs on the balance sheet * Spearheaded outsourcing of FM and IT for a major UK drinks retailer * Championed the development of common standards and the dissemination of best practice.
