J&J Carter wins tennis structure contracts

A JandJ Carter product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 2, 2010

J&J Carter has been awarded contracts for tennis structures in both Hampshire and Pembrokeshire, demonstrating its expertise within the sports arena.

Robert Carter, director, J&J Carter commented: "It takes experience to be able to create structures that are not only aesthetically pleasing but functional from a practical point of view within sports".

The contracts, based in Hampshire and Pembrokshire, will mean long-awaited improvements to both centres.

J&J Carter will be manufacturing and installing a 2,500m2 clearspan steel frame tensile membrane structure in Winchester, Hampshire, to cover four tennis courts.

J&J Carter has designed the structure to overcome planning issues so this long overdue project could go ahead.

The company's design expertise will again be used when they overcome access and installation issues at Haverford West, Pembrokeshire, with a specifically designed insulated Air Supported Dome to replace the existing damaged dome.

The 2,100m2 airdome will cover the tennis courts and multi sports area, and site surveys conducted by J&J Carter will ensure it exactly replicates the existing dome.
