The STEPS (Suppliers Towards Excellence Programme) has been running for six years and is designed to encourage suppliers in the domestic heating market to provide customers with the best possible care and service in the delivery of goods.
The supplier criteria analysed by British Gas are delivery performance, stockholding and timely arrivals, packaging, labelling and absence of packing discrepancies.
In winning the award in the Gas section, Johnson and Starley has once again set standards that other companies in the market must now use as a benchmark.
"The STEPS Awards are a good method of measuring supplier performance and working together with them.
Johnson and Starley have led the way by constantly improving performance in all areas and this is evident in the results.
The company's continued success in this programme demonstrates their commitment to getting it right first time and putting customer service first," said Peter Beer.
