The JB Antislip Plus timber decking was installed on two teaching terraces and on a platform that borders the green roof.

JB Antislip Plus features resin based aggregate inserts that are injected into grooves in the deck boards, which significantly improves slip resistance.

The deck boards specified on John Ferneley High School were from the John Brash Decksure range.

They are made from selected joinery grade European Redwood graded to BS4978:1996, strength class C16.

John Brash JB Antislip Plus has been independently tested by the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) using a Stanley Pendulum Test.

With just the two inserts specified at John Ferneley High School, the decking achieved a score of 63, even when wet.

The inserts were chosen in grey for the school decking, which complemented the colour of the new building and maintained a natural look in keeping with the sustainable agenda.

JB Antislip Plus inserts are available in a range of colours including red, green, blue and yellow.

These colour options add an extra aesthetic dimension and can be used to safely highlight changes in gradient where steps or slopes are located.
