Tenants of Northwards Housing in North Manchester have been giving their homes a makeover thanks to the introduction of a new voucher scheme by leading paint manufacturer Johnstone's.

The scheme, which is a partnership between Northwards Housing and Johnstone's, allows tenants to redeem their vouchers for decorating materials at a number of local Johnstone's Leyland Decorating Centres in exchange for Johnstone's products Paul Maidment, Head of Home Improvements for Northwards Housing, comments, "The voucher scheme is proving extremely successful with residents and we have already seen a high number of people visit Johnstone's Leyland Decorating Centres to redeem their vouchers"

"It offers residents the opportunity to improve their homes using high quality products".

Johnstone's first established a Partnership Agreement with Manchester Housing in 2004.

Following the successful internal and external refurbishments of 130 homes in the city, Johnstone's has continued to strengthen its relationship with Manchester housing and in 2005, was appointed to work with Northwards Housing, an Arms Length Management Organisation responsible for looking after over 13,000 homes on behalf of Manchester City Council.

Johnstone's Specification Team has provided technical assistance, developed paint specifications and provided product throughout its partnership with Northwards Housing.
