Leading door manufacturer and supplier Kaba Door Systems, has completed security installations at Manchester Airport Terminal 3.

Kaba installed six double Orthos PIL-M02 One-Way Corridor Security Interlocks at the domestic flights terminal The new system ensures that passengers leaving aircraft can proceed through to baggage collection areas but are prevented from regaining access to the aeroplane

The Orthos achieves the highest standards of security access in one of the most sensitive areas of the terminal.

On arrival, passengers are able to cross quickly and easily through a range of sensored lanes and fast opening doors.

These doors open automatically one after another and close once passengers have passed through.

Its sophisticated state-of-the-art system provides an effective barrier to prevent unauthorised persons and objects returning to air side.

Asha Williams, Airport Security and Training Manager said "As a result of the emerging threat to aviation and airport security from terrorism and other non-traditional threats, Manchester Airport continually seeks innovative and cost effective solutions to improve internal physical security and operating procedures" "The systems have proved a great success with airport staff and passengers alike, providing a very noticeable security statement that demonstrates clearly that Manchester Airport continually strives to improve standards of security across the whole site" Kaba Door Systems has over 80 years international experience in the design, manufacture and installation of a leading range of security, commercial and industrial access systems.

Kaba provides solutions that address the customer's needs for security, organisation and convenience at all physical entrances and exits.
