Upgraded MCP call point launched at Fire
Expo
KAC will show mid-life upgrade that significantly improve installation, commissioning and operation of its fourth generation MCP call point range at International Fire Expo 2007.
KAC, the world's largest manufacturer of conventional and addressable call points and allied devices for fire detection systems, will show a mid-life upgrade that significantly improve installation, commissioning and operation of its fourth generation MCP call point range on Stand G9 at International Fire Expo 2007, 21 -24 May, NEC Birmingham The cassette unit, which holds the frangible glass or re-settable operating element, has been redesigned to give an improved test and reset function; it is now inserted into the body of the unit in a singe vertical movement, eliminating the possibility of accidentally damaging the operating element during the process

New WCP range of outdoor manual call points
KAC has extended its new innovative Call Point family with the introduction of an IP67 sealed WCP Outdoor Call Point range.
The patented test, reset and lid release feature, operated by a single tool, now works in conjunction with an enhanced cassette retention mechanism that gives a far more positive stop to the operation.
Installation time has been significantly reduced through a new patented "plug and play" concept, which utilises a special terminal block that provides a common loop interface for both intelligent and non-intelligent versions of the device.
The terminal block is initially fitted with a simple continuity link, enabling the wiring of the fire alarm system to be tested for open, short circuit and earth fault without the manual call point unit itself in place.
Upon final commissioning, the continuity link is removed and the terminal block is then plugged directly into the back of the MCP, so no re-termination is required and no time is wasted.
The MCP features soft curved styling, is fully backwards compatible with previous generations, offers a significant reduction in installation time and is full compliant with the latest EN54-11 and BS5839 Part 1:2002 standards.
