Abloy Security Unlocks Maximum Security
Abloy Security has launched a new series of double-action solenoid locks that address the changing needs of modern-day applications by ensuring maximum security and unrivalled versatility.
The single number autodial hotline directs the user to a dedicated operator, whilst the four button option gives a choice of four pre-programmed destinations.
If users need to dial a range of numbers, a normal functional 12 button keypad option is also available, which can be programmed to bar calls to other than predetermined number ranges, such as hotel rooms or internal extensions The optional built-in IP camera, means operators can view callers via their web browser on any PC, PDA or compatible mobile.
The IP View SE software supplied with Geronimo can detect motion, so in the event of an attack it can e-mail high quality photos of the culprit, and additional cameras can be added to enhance security.
Derek Williamson, Kalika's managing director commented, "We are only too familiar with handsets that are out of action, especially when they're unsupervised".
"With Geronimo, not only is it robust enough to resist most attempts at vandalism, it continually monitors itself and reports its operational state by SMS messaging to the service operator".
"If it should be subject to attack or vandalism, it immediately informs central control or engineering, advising them of any fault".
"The engineer can then attend with the correct parts, so service can be restored without delay".
As well as remote management and programming, operational security is enhanced by many other innovative features.
For example, it will detect any attempt at fraudulent use such as making unauthorised calls or connecting another phone across the line.
It also has input and output interfaces that are isolated and protected.
The input interface can be used to monitor external alarms or remote sensors, while the output interface can be used to trigger an external alarm or lights even activate remote electrical equipment.
Added Williamson, "We wanted to make Geronimo as effective as possible for today's difficult commercial environment".
"Although it's designed to resist most of the problems associated with remote sited units, there may be occasions when even the toughest unit comes under attack, so we've built in systems that will not only identify the problem and the culprit, but ensure that normal service can be resumed as soon as possible".
Geronimo's stylish appearance belies its inbuilt sophistication, and makes it the perfect solution for any commercial, emergency or military application where continuity and reliability are essential even in the most adverse conditions.
