BRE says Kawneer windows meet BS 7950
Tests carried out by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) on Kawneer's AA600 series of aluminium windows have confirmed they meet the requirements of BS 7950.

BRE testing to BS 7950:1997 involved two types - manual intervention and mechanical loading.
The former involved the use of the typical tools a burglar would call upon such as screwdrivers and crowbars.
Mechanical loading involved the window being "pulled apart" by an in-line load of 1kN applied to each locking point, whilst a 3kN load tries to push the vent open.
The AA601 casement window, which was designed to optimise thermal performance in compliance with Document L, was tested to BS 7950:1997 Amendments No 1 and 2 - Specification in both its top and side-hung versions, in maximum sizes of 1.6-metre wide by 1.8-metre high for the former and 0.9-metre wide by 1.8-metre high for the latter.
Both were fitted with friction stays, hinged side security device and multi-point locking.
The AA603 tilturn, which is suitable for ground-floor and multi-storey new-build and refurbishment applications, was tested to BS 7950:1997 Amendment No 1 - Specification in sizes up to 1.5-metre wide, by 1.8-metre high fitted with Sobinco "Chrono Safe" TBT hardware.
