A curtain walling system that looks like a picture frame system but is quicker and easier to install is the latest addition to Kawneer's range of architectural aluminium systems.

The PF capped system is suitable where the build characteristics of a typical semi-unitised picture frame system are not essential or possible, where installation can be achieved in one stage rather than the two traditionally associated with picture frame systems.

The new capped-only system gives the specifier an even wider choice of design options while the contractor and installer benefit from reduced installation times compared to a traditionally constructed PF system.

Kawneer's innovative design team has developed the PF capped system with just three new parts to suite with the CWCT-tested AA100 and AA110 dry-jointed curtain walling systems.

An external pressure plate, face cap and weatherseal enable the new system to provide all the robust aesthetics of a picture frame system - on a proven grid with standard components and minimum additions - that integrates totally with the two existing systems.

Mullion or zone drained, it can accommodate glass from 4mm to 40mm.

The PF capped system for the AA100 system has mullions and transoms that are 50mm wide while those for the AA110 are 65mm wide.
