However, Four Piccadilly Place is a 120,000ft building with 110,500ft of Grade A offices on the seven upper floors and 10,500ft of retail on the ground floor.

Designed by Hodder Associates, the building sits over three levels of car parking and defines a new public square to the east.

It will feature Kawneer's AA100 curtain walling on three elevations, AA601 casement windows on the staircases and 190 heavy duty commercial entrance doors on the ground floor.

Kawneer-approved installers SG Aluminium started on site in November and are due to finish next March.

Full completion by main contractor Carillion for developer Argent is due in autumn 2009.

Piccadilly Place is a joint venture between Argent, Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) and will provide a total 675,000ft of offices, homes and a hotel, along with ground-floor shops and restaurants accessed from a new private piazza.

Kawneer's AA100 curtain walling and 190 doors, as well as AA603 French doors, have already been installed by SG Aluminium on The Hub apartments.
