BRE A rated window range launched by Kawneer
Kawneer has added a BRE Green Guide A rated frame to its existing range of windows, to meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly and secure building products.
The AA540 series has been designed for new build and refurbishment projects as much for its energy efficiency qualities as its aesthetics and security features, to ensure compliance with today's stringent performance requirements.
Kawneer has launched the AA540 series, BRE A rated window range
Advanced thermal break technology gives Kawneer's AA540 a U-value of 1.7W/m2K and full compliance with Part L of the building regulations.
In addition, the AA540 has a triple chamber system design which offers quicker fabrication and stronger mitre joints, giving improved aesthetics, quality and performance.
A pressure equalised system gives the AA540 excellent weather performance independently tested to BS 6375-1: 2009, ensuring the system is suitable for low and high-rise application.
The AA540 is also compliant with Operation and Strength Test BS 6375 Pt2.
Comprising a casement and pivot window within the same suite, and a tilturn variant by early 2011, the AA540 range is suitable for education, healthcare, commercial, retail and residential sectors where cost is a key driver.
The AA541 casement window, offering two BRE Green Guide A rated frames, is available top- or side-hung with multi-point locking to security standard BS 7950.
An offset handle position for the side-hung option, complemented by folding openers with link bars, enhances safety in use, while restricting its opening to 100mm ensures compliance with HTM 55 regulations and BS 8213.
The AA542 pivot window is available for horizontal and vertical applications to optimise natural ventilation.
The pivot operation is designed exclusively for Kawneer and is available with integral automatic 10 and 15 restrictions and a reverse stop at 170 to enhance safety.
The AA540 range is designed to suite with Kawneer's curtain walling, framing and door products to give the specifier ultimate flexibility.
The Green Guide rating, part of BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method), provides specifiers with easy-to-use guidance and an A+ to E rating scale on how to make the best environmental choices when selecting construction materials and components.
