Enterprising solution from Kalzip Fabrications

Enterprise House office development boasts a striking Kalzip 65/400 smooth curved, stucco-embossed standing seam roof.

Located in the heart of London's South Bank, the new two-storey extension of the prestigious Enterprise House office development boasts a striking Kalzip 65/400 smooth curved, stucco-embossed standing seam roof, which has been further accentuated by a selection of Kalzip fabrications.

Including gutters and window soakers in addition to both standard and welded flashings, the Kalzip fabrications were specified expressly to add consistency to the overall design.

By working in harmony with the impressive roof of the new build extension, which is barrel vault in design and right angle on plan, the building's attractive, uniform appearance was successfully achieved.

Designed by architectural firm A:kitekts, the roof and fabricated products were installed by approved Teamkal members T.R Freeman for main contractor Faithdean Plc.

Throughout the installation process, numerous logistical challenges had to be overcome owing to the busy central London location and the fact that the rest of the building was still in use.

Additionally, both the temporary roof, erected to provide weather protection, and the proximity of the scaffolding to the working area significantly impeded access.

Therefore to successfully complete the roof installation works, TR Freeman used an external gantry and running line just underneath the temporary structure to unload and distribute the materials.

The conversion of Enterprise House from a four to a six storey building will provide an additional 20,000 square feet of office space and thanks to its prime position, adjacent to the famous OXO Tower, the development has become one of the most familiar and impressive landmarks along the South Bank.
