Keeguard Roof Edge Protection Proves A Safe Remedy
The KeeGuard roof edge protection system from Kee Klamp Ltd is playing an important part in the positive health and safety regime operated by Croydon Council at its North District Housing Offices.
Access to the roofs of the multi storey buildings over the three sites is routinely required by maintenance workers and other contractors carrying out running repairs, inspection schedules and service to rooftop plant and water storage facilities.
In these circumstances, the Council recognized that roof edge protection takes a vital role, ensuring optimum safety in all weather conditions and providing security in the event of an involuntary slip, trip or fall.
Aware of Kee Klamp Ltd's successful track record in this type of health and safety project, the Council specified the popular KeeGuard? system as a versatile and cost-effective solution.
Kee Klamp Ltd's contracts team installed approximately 140 metres of the KeeGuard system to cover the buildings on all three sites.
The installation is a prime example of the versatility of the KeeGuard system, displaying its adaptability as a modular solution in being able to cope with the different roof edge profiles, numerous changes in direction and levels.
Because of the system's modular design and its use of the extensive range of Kee Klamp fittings in connecting sections together, these installation advantages are achieved quickly and easily.
Each Kee Klamp fitting incorporates an integral set screw to lock the casting safely and securely onto the tube.
This ensures the KeeGuard system is extremely quick and easy to assemble.
As a free-standing system, KeeGuard roof edge protection requires no drilling into the roof membrane or special anchoring of the system during installation.
Instead the KeeGuard system works on the cantilevered counter-weight principle, so cutting out the possible threat of leakage into the building caused by any damage to the roof covering.
The KeeGuard system is fully tested to HSE Specialist Inspectors Report No 15,.and is the only system on the market utilising fully TUV approved and tested fittings.
