Kee Klamp Fittings Prove Up To The Task

Improved access has taken on a whole new look for a local authority community centre in West Wales, thanks to fittings from the best selling Kee Klamp range.

As part of an access refurbishment project, Kee Klamp Ltd has supplied a range of its Slope fittings to help build the eye-catching new guardrailing structure that runs alongside a new ramp up to the entrance of Pembrey Community Education Centre.

Finished in an attractive bright red finish, this installation will ensure safe and easy access in line with the recommendations of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Recognizing the importance of the DDA recommendation on disabled access, the local authority, Camarthenshire County Council, opted for a new access ramp with guardrailing to replace a series of steps at the Centre's entrance.

The guardrailing extends for a distance of over 30 meters either side of the ramp to provide both guidance and a secure handhold.

The new ramp and structure will offer safer, easier access not just for disabled users, but also for the many other visitors attending classes, clubs or events at the Centre, including children, parents with pushchairs and older people.

Kee Klamp Slope fittings were chosen for the quick, simple and effective connection solution they provide on gradient installations.

These innovative fittings enable easy pivoting of guard-rail tubes in the fitting barrel to achieve the desired gradient angle before final tightening of the grub-screw.

This simple assembly method results in a clean, trouble-free installation which eliminates the need for welding or similar specialist skills, significantly reducing assembly time.

The entire installation at Pembrey Community Education Centre has been completed in a smart, red colour to contrast with the grey pebble-dashed building, and ensure maximum visibility for the partially sighted and visually impaired.

The project was completed by Kee Klamp Ltd's own installation team working closely with Lloyd and Gravell Building Contractors Ltd, the main contractors.
