Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 20, 2006

High performance curtain wall system manufactured and installed by Keway Aluminium at the Moulton Secondary School in Northampton.

Redevelopment of the Moulton Secondary School in Northampton has taken place over a number of years and more recently the main block has had the old steel framed windows and timber cladding removed and replaced with a high performance curtain wall system manufactured and installed by Keway Aluminium Limited.

In order to include simple and effective ventilation, secure top hung vents have been inserted into the curtain wall complete with trickle vents for secure ventilation when the school is not occupied.

Aluminium spandrel panels in a contrasting burgundy colour have been added which blend perfectly with the existing buff coloured brickwork.

Further phases of the development are planned which will completely replace all the steel window facade of the main building ensuring a watertight and thermally efficient working environment for students.

Wayne Douglas of Keway comments, "We are very active in the education sector as we understand the needs of our clients".

"During the installation of the project the use of the classrooms were not effected and disruption was kept to a minimum whilst maintaining high levels of safety".

Keway Aluminium, are a specialist fenestration installer and pride themselves in offering a broad range of products from various systems companies to suit project requirements.
