Heat recovery in 15th century Guernsey conversion
Guernsey is benefiting from some of the best examples of well designed, energy efficient homes, thanks to heat recovery systems supplied by ADM Systems.
Kimpton engineers have installed a heat recovery condensing unit externally which in turn connects onto a branch box controller which is positioned in the ceiling space of the Manufacturing Suite.
A number of slim line ducted units are installed within the ceiling space providing conditioned air to each office area via insulated duct work and diffusers.
Whilst Kimpton has been retained as the site's sole provider of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) for the past 10 years, completing regular maintenance checks on all boiler and air conditioning equipment, this latest application, completed over a three month period, is typical of specific design and installation projects which Kimpton gets involved for News International both at Knowsley and at the publisher's remote office sites such as at Piccadilly, Manchester.
With eight presses responsible for printing a number of national daily and Sunday newspapers including the News of the World, The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times, the Knowsley site is a major production plant and presents a challenging operation for the in-house facilities management team.
Facilities Manager, Rod MacKenzie commented: "As our retained maintenance engineers for many years, Kimpton has an inherent understanding of our business needs and the criticality of our systems".
"They know this site and its equipment so well and are always responsive and professional whether it's the maintenance of existing systems or one-off design and installation projects such as this latest production suite.".
