Kingspan Multideck Now Spans Further Than Ever

A Kingspan Insulated Panels product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 5, 2004

Kingspan has introduced Multideck V2 - a stronger version of its market leading floordeck.

The new steel formula used in Multideck V2 gives greater flexibility to projects in terms of span lengths or gauge weights.

Multideck now spans up to 5.4m unpropped and gauge ranges between 0.9mm through to 1.2mm.

"Multideck's extra strength and higher yield opens up a number of possibilities for cost savings and design," said Kingspan's Marketing Manager John Williams.

"The new product gives the option of having a longer span between beam centres or using a lower gauge to achieve the same performance at a significantly lower cost.

"Not only does Multideck save money on steel costs, it continues to require less concrete than many other competing decks to achieve any given slab thickness." Multideck is available in three variants.

Multideck 60-V2 is Kingspan's most popular deck.

Spanning up to 4.5m, Multideck 60-V2 incorporates a 60mm high structurally efficient trapezoidal profile.

Multideck 80-V2 is designed to offer all the advantages of 60-V2 but in a deeper profile to provide longer spans up to 5.4mm unpropped.

The 50mm dovetail profile of Multideck 50-V2 provides spans up to 4mm unpropped.

Multideck Version 2 will be available in autumn 2004 and an updated version of Kingspan's Toolkit software will be released shortly.
