Simon Tedrake, architect at BBF Fielding, comments: "We are extremely satisfied with the results of this project.
The original envelope of the building was totally unremarkable and typical of the building aesthetics of the 1970s, so it was somewhat of a challenge to create a very stylish building, one that projects a positive and upwardly image.
The slim, slight lines of the external cladding system has helped us do this.
We have achieved our aim of designing a contemporary office facility that catches the eye and provides maximum comfort for tenants." The office facility is located in the heart of Watford and the refurbishment has created open floor accommodation for a tenant fit out.
Office space has been expanded and a new reception area constructed.
The refurbishment required part demolition of the existing structure and an internal strip out.
The KS1000 Optimo system represents a dramatic breakthrough in pre-engineered wall systems delivering a modern and visually pleasing solution.
It offers all the benefits of off-site pre-fabrication, such as optimal build speed and installed cost, and creates a functional building where creative form and shape are key design factors.
Lower lifetime costs are also achieved by the reduction of maintenance and lower energy usage, which minimises emissions throughout a building's lifetime.
