Taking Care Of Business
A combination of Kingspan systems was used to stunning effect on a £1m new build project at a business park in Powys.
Through the use of the Kingspan Kingzip roofing system and Kingspan Optimo wall panels, two impressive industrial units have been created that bucks the trend for 'boring' build normally associated with this type of building The design aim of the two 700m2 units on Broadaxe Park, owned by the Welsh Development Agency, was to take a fresh approach, whilst incorporating elements of the stylish buildings that already exist on the business estate

LongSpan Eliminates Secondary Steelwork
Kingspan Insulated Panels has developed its range of insulated panels with the addition of LongSpan, a wider range of panels that removes the need for secondary steelwork.
We are acutely aware of the benefits Kingspan products provide, not least the high performance aspects, and we are delighted with the end results.
Kingzip successfully integrates the company's insulated roof panel technology with advanced standing seam construction techniques.
It is an easy-to-handle, single, weathertight component that enables fast track construction.
Significantly, the adoption of a standing seam approach supports the quick and easy laying pitches as low as 1.5 degrees.
The innovative fixing method also eliminates the need to pierce the external sheet, so maximising weather protection and thermal performance.
A benefit Chris found extremely useful.
He comments: "The Kingzip roofing system allowed us to afford a standing seam type roof with all penetrations for fixings covered.
This eradicated a source of potential leakage into the building." Kingspan KS1000 Optimo insulated wall panels represent a major breakthrough in appearance for pre-engineered architectural insulated wall systems.
It offers the benefits of a single-fix solution with an unprofiled finish.
It provides a visually clean exterior for prestigious projects.
Chris concludes: "The building is a simple portal frame with dado masonry up to ground floor.
The Optimo panels provide a modern clean look and creates a striking appearance when combined with the shallow pitched Kingzip roof, with an up stand ridge configuration.
The gables match the remainder of the building and incorporate glazed oriel structures and sidelights.
The insulated panels have helped to create a stylishly smooth look that will be a showpiece building for the eventual occupant.".
