Kingspan BBA certification for Kingzip roof panels
Kingspan Insulated Panels has been awarded British Board of Agrement (BBA) certification for its high performance Kingzip product
Kingspan Insulated Panels has been awarded British Board of Agrement (BBA) certification for its high performance Kingzip product, a system that successfully integrates the company's insulated roof panel technology with advanced standing seam construction techniques.
Kingspan developed the pre-engineered zip-up roofing system to provide enhanced performance characteristics, design flexibility, aesthetic appeal and fast-track construction.
The BBA's Agrement Certificate provides independent verification of Kingzip's performance.
Every Agrement Certificate contains important data on durability, installation and compliance with Building Regulations throughout the UK.
Assessment is carried out in three areas: laboratory testing, site inspections and factory production control.
90 mm LPS 1181 Kingzip also provides 60 minutes Fire Resistance and is classed as non-combustible building by the Association of British Insurers (ABI)*.
The Kingzip system is a simple, easy to handle, weathertight component system for fast-track roof installation.
It is supplied complete with perimeter seals, and is available with matching fascias, gutters and flashings.
The standing seam construction technique allows Kingzip to be laid quickly and easily to finished pitches as low as 1.5 degrees.
Cover widths of between 500mm and 1,000mm allow panels to be readily applied to roofs over 150m in radius.
Kingspan has developed its own unique fixing method for Kingzip that eliminates the need to penetrate the external sheet, maximising both weather protection and thermal performance.
Kingzip external facings are available in a wide range of finishes and colours in both curved and pitched panels as well as in longer lengths.
The BBA Agrement Certificate provides independent confirmation of the system's durability, performance and compliance with all relevant UK Building Regulations.
* "External claddings that are LPCB approved to LPS 1181 can be regarded as satisfying the original grade 2 construction rules or be classed as non-combustible building".
"(Note: This grading does not imply that the material is non-combustible)." (Section 4.4, Page 11).
