Revolutionary Longspan KS1000 XD X-dek insulated structural roof decking system from Kingspan Insulated Panels provides structural performance, removing the need for secondary steelwork.

Whether you want to breathe a bit of green into a city development, or need to blend in with surrounding countryside, a green roof could be just what you're looking for The revolutionary Longspan KS1000 XD X-dek insulated structural roof decking system from Kingspan Insulated Panels has the capacity to provide just such a roof, along with a number of other unique benefits

Longspan X-dek provides structural performance, removing the need for secondary steelwork.

This, together with the fresh white inner finish provides clean, uncluttered internal lines.

Eliminating secondary steelwork also completely removes an entire phase of construction, thereby increasing speed, site productivity and quality, and reducing life cycle costs.

X-dek can be used for conventional site applied membrane finished flat roof applications, which provides the specifier with a wide range of finish possibilities.

The system can also be used to create curved roofs down to a 30 metre radius, combining versatility with high level durability and thermal performance.

Suitable for frame-to-frame spanning of up to 8 metres, it might be assumed that such large spans could present problems with load bearing, but the unique construction of the Longspan X-dek system provides exceptional load bearing strength up to 500kg/m2, and it is this attribute that makes it particularly suited to a green roof application.

There are huge benefits to be had from creating a green roof: It enhances the thermal performance of the roof, helps to retain stormwater, thereby aiding flood management, reduces dust and smog levels and the urban heat island effect in cities.

It visually enhances quality of life for the occupants of the building and those surrounding it, and increases the available natural habitat for animals and plants.

If all of that isn't enough for you, a green roof creates a protective layer which increases the life expectancy of the roof, it reduces noise levels and provides a heat shield in the summer.

Last but not least, it utilises what could otherwise be dead space, offering immense recreational and educational possibilities.

The potential downside of these projects is that a green roof can dramatically increase the loading on a building.

However, with X-dek the weight of secondary steelwork has been removed, and the loadbearing capacity of the panel system is more than adequate to the task of supporting such an exciting and beneficial development.

Kingspan Longspan KS1000 XD X-dek easily meets the latest requirements of the Thermal Building Regulations, Part L2A and Section 6, including low air leakage performance.

Kingspan offer a Total Guarantee Assurance of up to 25 years on their products, covering all of the key performance areas for their insulated roof, wall and facade systems in a single comprehensive package.
