Building services specialist, Kimpton, have completed four projects in the health and education sectors.

"Conducting building works within occupied premises without endangering or inconveniencing its users is a constant challenge facing public organisations," explains Richard Kimpton, Managing Director of Kimpton Building Services "Along with the usual financial implications, organisations face constant difficulties in securing contractors that can meet the complex planning and supervision requirements on a project where the scheme remains in use and Kimpton's track record in this type of scheme is helping secure a growing portfolio of public sector jobs"

Sefton Council has declared Kimpton 'an approved sub-contractor' after the successful installation of a perimeter ceiling heating system to its newest Sure Start Centre, whilst the centre was in use.

As well as installing the perimeter heating system, the company installed the ventilation, gas services and hot and cold water supply on time and within budget with no disruption to the daily activities of the centre.

Application of Kimpton's heating expertise at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor, where they undertook the essential installation of an energy efficient boiler system to the staff accommodation buildings, resulted in completion within just 6 weeks.

The latest project in an eight-year relationship between the two organisations, Kimpton's efficient handling of the job prompted a hospital spokesperson to comment that they were 'impressed with their technical knowledge and professional approach'.

Once again applying their healthcare sector experience, Kimpton undertook an extensive electrical fit out at Claire House, a hospice on the Wirral offering care to children with life threatening or life limiting conditions.

The project included lighting schemes, assisted baths, wheelchair lifts, automatic door system, IT system and an emergency generator to ensure vital care to patients in the event of a power outage.

Finally, Kimpton flexed their building services muscle during a refurbishment and extension project at Westminster Children's Centre.

The centre, a facility that provides childcare, health and family support, required a full range of mechanical services including heating and ventilation, gas services, hot water and above ground drainage.

As the project was located within a school that remained fully operational throughout the works, Kimpton not only had to meet a tight schedule, but were also required to pay close attention to health and safety.

Richard continued: "Our professional approach to managing projects within the public sector to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and with minimal disruption to the daily activities of each site continues to impress our health and education sector clients".

"We always look for potential savings for the client whilst delivering a high quality end product - the very definition of best value.".
