Kingspan Off-Site at Futurebuild
Kingspan Off-Site exhibited the TEK Building System and the Optima closed panel building solution.
Kingspan Off-Site, which was recently formed following Kingspan Century's acquisition of Pace Timber Systems, exhibited the latest in modern methods of construction at Futurebuild in the form of its innovative timber frame systems, the TEK Building System and the Optima closed panel building solution.
Kingspan Off-Site's TEK Building System featured on stand F157.
This precision engineered SIPs (structural insulated panel) based panel system is manufactured using 110mm of high performance rigid urethane insulation, which has a zero ODP (ozone depletion potential), sandwiched between two sheets of OSB.
The stand demonstrated how the system offers complete design flexibility, high levels of accuracy, fast build times and, with a U-value of just 0.20W/m2K, delivers excellent thermal efficiency, further enhanced by the system's high level of airtightness.
Kingspan Off-Site's Optima advanced closed panel building solution was exhibited on stand F280, together with a range of high performance timber frame systems, a range of timber roof solutions and metal web floor joist systems.
This completely off-site manufactured system can be used to construct a house in just three days, which represents a considerable time and cost saving for the housebuilder.
The system includes internal and external walling systems, which are delivered to site complete with dry lining, insulation, conduits and pre-installed doors and windows, as well as floor cassettes, stairs and roof panels or 'whole' erected roofs.
As the building components are entirely manufactured off site in factory-controlled conditions, the system delivers predictable high levels of accuracy, as well as extremely fast build times.
Speaking about the event, Gerry McCaughey, director of Kingspan Off-Site, said: "Futurebuild enabled Kingspan Off-Site to demonstrate first hand to construction professionals how its latest timber engineered building systems can benefit today's building industry.
"For some time, timber frame has been considered a mainstream building method in the UK that can provide a solution to the increasingly difficult challenges facing the industry, such as the provision of affordable housing and the creation of carbon neutral homes.
As a result, more housebuilders and developers than ever before are using advanced systems to create high performance homes and sustainable communities that provide an attractive and desirable living environment, a trend that is only set to continue as new timber frame technology and solutions are developed".
Kingspan Off-Site is Europe's leading manufacturer and innovator of modern methods of construction, providing high performance solutions to the private housebuilding and commercial sectors, as well as the public sector.
The company uses the latest in off-site manufacturing techniques to produce complete building systems for a broad range of applications at its UK and European facilities.
