Kingspan Off-Site cracking the code at Futurebuild
Kingspan Off-Site, UK's largest manufacturer of MMC building systems, will be at Futurebuild 2008 exhibiting systems designed to enable projects to meet the new Code for Sustainable Homes.
The first company to design and build a house to reach level 6 of the CSH, Kingspan Off-Site will use the exhibition to demonstrate how the Lighthouse designs were put into practice to successfully achieve sign-off in post-completion testing.
Currently, new homes have to be built to level 3, by 2010 this reaches level 4, with level 5 mandatory in 2013 and level 6 by 2016.
Kingspan Off-Site has a range of building systems that can enable projects to reach their desired level.
The Kingspan TEK SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) based system, which was used for the Lighthouse project, created U-values of 0.11W/m2K and superior levels of air-tightness airtightness of less than 1.0m3/hr/m2 at 50Pa, helping the house to reach the highest levels of the code.
In addition to the Kingspan TEK Building System, the company's Optima integrated building system and Kingframe systems will be on show, together with a selection of timber frame systems and a range of steel frame and facade systems.
Collectively, this portfolio of building systems can help to meet any level of the CSH.
Kingspan Off-Site was formed in 2007 following the acquisition of Pace Timber Systems and Potton, making it the UK's largest manufacturer of MMC building systems.
The creation of Kingspan Off-Site division has combined the innovative product solutions and extensive technical expertise of both Kingspan's timber and steel divisions, and has been the final stage in the development of the UK's first 'super' off-site systems provider.
