Kingspan now largest UK timber frame manufacturer
Kingspan Century announce two major acquisitions, Pace Timber Systems and Potton, making it the largest timber frame manufacturer in the UK.
The Lark Hill project comprises three, two storey and eight, single storey buildings in a total of 166 modular units.
Three of the buildings provide a total of 70 ensuite bedrooms for military personnel.
The other eight buildings include two shower blocks, a mess, office facilities, two store areas, a rest room and a training centre.
Kingspan provided the design of the overall structural steel system and undertook the sub-assembly of the module steelwork at its Sherburn site.
The Kingspan modules were delivered in kit form to Pyramid who then assembled the units at their Driffield site.
The modules were fully fitted out prior to being transported to Lark Hill where they could be rapidly installed and commissioned for immediate use with minimum onsite disruption.
Once the modular units were in place on site the Kingspan Capella roof truss system was installed and clad with Kingspan composite rooftile panels.
This solution offered the advantages of fast track building using off site construction whilst ensuring a traditional look and maximising the overall U values achieved within the units.
