Kingspan Launches Essential Structural Design Tool

A Kingspan Off-Site product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 13, 2004

Kingspan Metl-Con has updated Toolkit, its popular structural design software, to incorporate the new improvements to its Multideck V2 range of floordecking.

Toolkit 4 incorporates structural design programmes for purlin and rails, as well as optimising composite floor design to reduce concrete requirements.

Toolkit 4 is free to engineers and end users of Kingspan's structural products.

The software will instantaneously convert Multideck floor deck designs with mesh, into the mesh-free Dramix steel fibre option, showing the savings that can be made.

John Williams, Marketing Manager for Kingspan Metl-Con, says of the new Toolkit version: "Our overriding aim has been to design an interactive resource which provides structural engineers and end users with an essential single information source on Kingspan structural systems.

We have developed the Toolkit programmes to simplify all processes - from designing the proposed structure to be fully compliant with the Wind Code, through to making it easy for end users to detail and order the necessary structural products from us!" The Toolkit series has become the leading cold rolled steel and floor decking design software in the industry and is now used by structural engineers in over 1000 practices in the UK.

The structural design software has been used industry wide to save valuable design time.
