Kingspan Structural Products and MSW are two of the key players in the team building England's national stadium The two companies are providing the crucial decking solution for the areas of the new Wembley where precast concrete planks cannot be fitted

The construction methods used in the new Wembley are heavily dependent on using traditional concrete planks; however the more circular design of the new stadium combined with the integration of a 210-bed hotel, 13 restaurants and 100,000 square foot of office space into the main building, means there are a number of more complicated areas in which another solution is required.

MSW and Kingspan solved this problem for the main contractors Multiplex Constructions UK by introducing Kingspan's Multideck profiled galvanised steel decks.

"The flexibility of Multideck - from its ability to be cut and curved to fit design requirements through to vastly reduced crane usage and cost - means that it can be deployed in a variety of complicated installations throughout the new Wembley," said Derek Johnson, Managing Director of MSW.

"Multideck is the best selling decking product in the country; contractors and installers like us know that we can rely on Kingspan's engineers to come up with a Multideck solution that provides strength, span and robustness at hugely cost effective prices." Multideck scores over concrete in many ways.

The lead times for big precast concrete slabs are extremely long; Multideck can be designed, produced, delivered and installed in the same time it takes the concrete plank to be poured and set.

Unlike concrete, Multideck can be cut, curved and shortened to fit the exact dimensions and requirements of the project.

Furthermore, the crane time committed to delivering Multideck is a fraction of that required by slabs.

All the necessary Multideck sections can be delivered in one go, enabling the crane to be relocated for other jobs or returned to the hirer days earlier than if it was dealing with precast concrete slabs.

MSW, a key structural flooring solutions partner of Kingspan, is using a mixture of Multideck products on the Wembley site, including Multideck 60 V2.
