Kingspan acquisition extends off-site range
Kingspan Fabrik, formerly known as Fibrecon Cladding Systems Limited, specialises in the manufacture of unitised wall systems with glass reinforced concrete facades.
Construction industry leader Kingspan has strengthened an already extensive off-site product range with its latest company acquisition.
County Louth based Kingspan Fabrik, formerly known as Fibrecon Cladding Systems Limited, specialises in the manufacture of unitised wall systems with glass reinforced concrete (GRC) facades.
GRC is an innovative process which can be shaped and textured to replicate natural finishes such as brick, sandstone, granite and Portland stone Kingspan and Fabrik have committed to a significant investment in a new, state-of-the-art fabrication facility approximately 30 miles North of Dublin.
The company?s existing 20 staff have all been retained by Kingspan, and employee numbers are expected to rise to around 100 by 2010 in order to meet growing demand for ready-to-install building envelope solutions.
The Kingspan Fabrik panel system provides a complete through-wall solution, comprising external facade panels (in a wide variety of finishes),insulation and structural frame in one factory assembled unit.
Each panel is simply craned into position and fixed directly to the main structure of any concrete, timber or steel framed building.
Once installed the panels are ready for internal linings.
The external finishes visually match natural materials and are ideally suited for facade applications on commercial, industrial and residential projects.
The versatility and speed of installation of Kingspan Fabrik has led to its specification on a number of high-profile projects.
In the region of 20 ?On The Run? Esso service stations in the Republic of Ireland feature the system, as do a number of commercial premises and residential developments currently nearing completion.
The new facility is expected to enable Kingspan Fabrik to manufacture in excess of 100,000sq m of product per annum.
It will also support the company?s commitment to developing new lines to complement Kingspan?s other off-site solutions, which include frame sections, wall framing and the Kingframe Architectural Facade System.
Kingspan Fabrik director David Tyndall commented: ?Kingspan?s acquisition of Fabrik is highly beneficial not only to both companies but also to all their customers.
We have a product which provides architects with a complete individualised, cost-effective alternative to conventional finishes, with the added quality and speed benefits of factory manufacture.
Kingspan?s involvement brings direct investment and the support of an industry leader in design and manufacture, underpinning the ongoing success of the Fabrik product and enhancing the Kingspan Off-Site range.?.
