One of the most luxurious new medium-rise developments in Manchester has benefited from the specification of Kingspan Frame Sections to help speed up construction, completion and handover.

Skyline Central, an 18-storey residential development in a highly convenient city centre location, incorporates stunning leisure facilities that include a 20 metre swimming pool on the top floor, gym, sauna, steam room and winter garden Timely handover of the building was crucial so the developers could capitalise on investment return - but without compromising quality

Facade installer ECL Contracts specified Kingspan Frame Sections.

As ECL Construction Manager Daniel Sillis explained: "We specified Kingspan Frame Sections for several reasons, not least competitive pricing and rapid turnaround".

"But the way in which product deliveries were batched and marked in line with our installation requirements was also a deciding factor".

Prior to delivery Kingspan bundles, straps together and product marks sections in the order specified by the installer.

This results in significant on-site time savings as sections arrive on time, and in the right sequence to allow immediate installation.

The technique helps installers to maximise the benefits of 'stud and track' building, an elemental on-site framing method of construction which is faster than conventional wet trades.

Recent analysis by consultants Cyril Sweett indicates that stud and track is twice as quick to install as blockwork.

Kingspan Frame Sections can also accommodate an almost unlimited choice of exterior and interior facings and linings.

In the case of Skyline Central the prestige image was enhanced by a high pressure laminate (HPL) timber-effect finish and complementary tinted glazed units.
