Grand Arcade Shopping Centre, Wigan is one of the latest projects to benefit from the excellent thermal properties of Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit Board.
The GBP120 million development by Modus Properties, is the world's first shopping centre to have reduced CO2 emissions to net zero through the carbon neutral climate change programme Over 4,000 m2 of Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit Board was installed under the suspended slab of the main building following a change in specification by the main scheme contractors Shepherd Construction

Kingspan Kooltherm K10 Soffit Board is a premium performance rigid phenolic insulation board, designed for use under structural ceilings (soffits).
The lightweight product achieves a thermal conductivity as low as 0.021 W/m.K and addresses the stringent safety requirements of a public building with a Class O / Low Risk fire rated insulation core and negligible smoke obscuration.
The product is also unaffected by air movement and is resistant to the passage of water vapour.
Kingspan Thermafloor TF70 high performance rigid urethane insulation for solid concrete and suspended ground floors was also used at the Grand Arcade between the concrete slab and the concrete top slab of the roof car park.
