New pump station manager appointed
He is responsible for all the pump station products across the entire Kingspan Environmental Division, which includes UK leading brands Klargester and Titan Pollution Control.
Kingspan Environmental has appointed Andy Newman, 35, as its new pump station product manager.
Andy has joined Kingspan after many years working for Grundfos Pumps and ITT Flygt, two of the world's largest manufacturers of pump stations.
More recently, he was project manager at Watling Hope Installations, specifying, installing and commissioning sewage treatment plants and pump stations.
Pump stations are currently the most commonly specified solutions for UK main sewer connection developments, ahead of even sewage treatment plants and septic tanks.
"Kingspan Environmental has a great reputation as a forward-looking company, with market-leading brands," says Andy.
"I've installed concrete ring pump chambers which are prevalent in the market but tricky and costly to install, and so I could see the benefits of Kingspan's GRP packaged solution immediately".
"They're light-weight but very strong and much simpler to install.
Plus, they were the first pumps that could be designed and manufactured off-site, giving a guaranteed quality of construction.
It represents a major step forward for the industry, particularly as Local Authorities and Municipal Agencies are looking to the future, and packaged systems are now becoming a requirement.
"I can see them becoming the product of choice for future residential or commercial property developments as well as Water Company adoptable schemes.
