A stand-alone fire alarm has been introduced by sound and visual signalling specialist Klaxon Signals Designed for use in small retail, industrial or temporary buildings, the Klaxalarm Terrier does not require mains power as it is battery-operated

If necessary, several units can be linked together.

The Terrier is particularly ideal for temporary use, such as on construction sites, camp sites or in marquees.

It can also be used in permanent structures as a temporary alarm when the main fire alarm system is under maintenance.

Simple to install and operate, the Terrier emits three tones at an audibility of up to 97dB (A) at one metre, ensuring it can be heard above most background noises.

Several units can be interlinked to provide additional coverage, so that when one call point is activated, all of the other units sound.

When fitted with a LR14 battery, the units will operate in standby mode for over 12 months.

An audible warning is emitted when the battery power level becomes low.

Available in red, the Terrier has a rugged metal construction.

It is suitable for indoor use.

Also available as part of the Klaxalarm range is the Boxer, a simple combination of call point and sounder that provides a low cost alternative to a full BS5839 alarm system.
