Knauf Consolidates Its UK Insulation

Global building materials company Knauf has acquired the majority stake hold in KnaufAlcopor Limited.

The UK's market leader in glass mineral wool, rock mineral wool, fibre and extruded polystyrene foam insulation will now operate under the new name of Knauf Insulation Ltd A natural progression for the business, full acquisition by Knauf heralds long term strength and stability for the company across all of its markets

A family owned global building materials company, Knauf now has more than 100 production plants in over 30 countries worldwide.

Based in Germany, it is one of the largest European building materials groups with an annual turnover in excess of ?1.8 billion.

Knauf is also one of the largest glass mineral wool producers in the USA.

An entirely independent concern, Knauf Insulation Ltd., will continue to operate separately from Knauf's other UK businesses: Knauf Drywall and Knauf DIY.

The company will continue to develop its market leading range of insulation products in the UK operating from manufacturing plants in St Helens, Hartlepool, Queensferry North Wales, and Pontyfelin South Wales.
