This unique, innovative product means that builders now only need one size of cavity-closer for wall cavities between 50mm and 100mm wide.

Insulated cavity-closers are used to provide a thermal and waterproof break between the inner and outer skins of openings in cavity walls.

But, of course, there are cavities and there are cavities! The designed width of a cavity can vary from 50mm to 100mm and this means that builders need a range of different size closers to cover all eventualities.

Apart from the risk of having the wrong width for the cavity, wastage can also be high as the size needed on one project may not be suitable for use on another.

Not so with the Polyfoam Combi-Closer! Its unique, patented design means it can be easily modified to fit any size cavity.

The closer consists of a rigid PVC casing that holds, and protects, a length of Knauf Insulation's high performance, extruded polystyrene Polyfoam Insulation.

The insulation material is marked with different cavity widths and partially pre-cut along its length.

This means strips can be quickly snapped-off allowing the closer to fit snugly into any size cavity.

It's that simple! Having a universal cavity-closer brings builders great benefits - always having the right product to hand reduces wastage and saves time and money - but there's also benefits for the supply chain.

"No matter what size cavities they've got, we've always got the right size to close it!" Polyfoam Combi-Closer provides a waterproof break between the inner and outer skins of a cavity wall.

Both the PVC casing and extruded polystyrene insulation are resistant to, and unaffected by, moisture and the insulation has a thermal conductivity of 0.030W/mK.

The casing has a flexible strip that fits into door or window frames and acts as an additional damp proof seal and is ready to accept a plaster finish.

Although one size does fit all, Knauf Insulation offers Polyfoam Combi-Closer in two widths: 75mm and 100mm.

The 100mm, 'universal' version is designed for cavities between 50mm and 100mm wide, whereas the 75mm version provides a cost-effective alternative for narrower cavities ranging from 50mm to 75mm.

Both sizes are supplied in polythene packs containing six, 3.0m lengths.
