Knauf Insulation has ace in the hole
Knauf Insulation launched new range of glass mineral wool cavity barriers in an easy to use colour-code system designed to suit a variety of cavity wall widths from 50mm to 100mm.
Knauf Insulation - the UK's leading manufacturer of glass and rock mineral wool, extruded polystyrene (XPS) and extruded polyethylene (XPE) insulation - has launched it's new range of glass mineral wool cavity barriers in an easy to use colour-code system designed to suit a variety of cavity wall widths from 50mm to 100mm.
Crown Cavity Barriers are a simple to install protection solution to prevent the spread of smoke and fire within wall cavities in masonry, timber frame and metal frame buildings.
They are also suitable for reducing flanking noise transmission in these concealed cavities.
The barriers are 1200mm long and available in two standard depths of 100mm and 300mm - 100mm barriers are used for normal fire stopping and noise reduction applications, whereas 300mm barriers are used where higher performance levels are specified and at party wall/external wall cavity junctions.
The glass mineral wool used in the manufacture of Crown Cavity Barriers carries a Euroclass A1 fire certificate to comply with Building Regulation requirements for both fire and acoustics.
What's more, due to flanges on all thicknesses they can be used in both vertical and horizontal applications.
Phil Rigby, glass product manager at Knauf Insulation, said: "Crown Cavity Barriers are a versatile product ideal for the provision of thermal and acoustic insulation".
"It is also extremely simple to handle and install, as it is light and easy to cut to size and the colour-coding system has proven enormously popular with users.".
