Sealants, wraps and boards for fire safety market

A Polyseam product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jan 26, 2012

Polyseam are looking to recruit resellers after launching its new ASF range, including sealants, pipe wraps, pipe collars and fire boards.

The products help to ensure that both new builds and refurbished properties meet the latest requirements for air and sound insulation and for fire stopping.

Neil Smith, Sales and Business Development Manager at Polyseam, commented; 'Recent changes in legislation are requiring specifiers and builders to think in more detail about how they can improve insulation levels, not only for fire but also sound and air.

Using passive fire protection solutions along with the complimentary insulators for air and sound can make a real difference to both the comfort and safety levels in a building, be it residential or commercial'.

There are currently six products in the ASF stable, all of which have been independently assessed and certified to the latest, internationally recognised standards including EN1363-1:199, EN1366-3:2004, 2009, BS476 Part 20:1987, BSEN ISO 717-1:1997.

All products have Certifire third party certification.

The products in the range are:.

FR Mineral Wool Board - designed to maintain the fire resistance of separating walls and floors where breached by building services.

Pipe Wrap and Pipe Collars - contain a graphite based material that will expand to fill a void created when plastic pipes have melted as a result of fire.

S290 - an acoustic intumescent sealant that prevents the spread of smoke and fire through joints and service penetrations.

S291 - an intumescent pressure sealant to prevent the passage of smoke and flames by closing the void left by plastic pipes.

Socket Box Protection - a fire and sounded rated putty that prevents the passage of smoke, flames, sound and air through an electrical socket.

Other products are already under development with new products scheduled to be launched later in the year.

New resellers wanted.

'We believe there is a real window of opportunity for this range and are keen to hear from any company interested in being a reseller," continued Neil Smith'.

'We are able to offer a comprehensive support package to resellers and would welcome enquiries from across the country'.

Any organisation interested in finding out more about the opportunities presented by this new range should contact Neil direct on Tel: 01484 421036 or email Neil.smith@polyseam.co.uk.
