Said Balfour Beatty Utilities' Plant and Transport Director, Stephen Jackson: "Kubota has been our preferred supplier of mini excavators for a number of years and we have been perfectly happy to stay with them for several reasons.
"We get excellent usage out of them, with minimal downtime; their serviceability is quick and easy, with fast availability of spares; and they have an excellent resale value.
Our operators like using them because of their ease of handling and the comfortable cab." He added that both models were light enough to be towed to sites on a trailer.
"We use vans to tow the 1.5 tonne models and lorries to tow the larger machines".
As with most of its Kubota fleet the latest batch of minis was supplied by official Kubota distributor, BTE Plant Sales , from it Markfield, Leicester depot.
Said Stephen Jackson: "We have built up an excellent relationship with the team at BTE over the years.
From the Managing Director downwards they are always willing to meet our specific requests.
Their Product Manager is extremely knowledgeable about Kubota machines and keeps us posted on all the latest technical developments".
